Dial A Story
From the
Mid Mississippi Regional Library
"Sand in My Shoes"
written by Wendy Kesselman.
The last day of summer. Time to say goodbye to the beach, good-bye to the roses, good-bye, even, to the turtle and toad who have been such good friends-such good listeners-over the past few months.
Time to return to the noisy, crowded city. To school and to rules and to tall shadows from buildings that fall across the street and loom overhead. But back in the city, the memories of summer linger. Even in the city, in the bedroom that will soon feel like home again, a favorite saved seashell and some grains of sand keep the memories of warm waves strong through the winter.
Children can call the Attala County Library's free dial-a-story line @ 2889-8069 to hear this story over the telephone 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This service is provided by the Mid-Mississippi Regional LIbrary System and an LSTA grant from the Mississippi LIbrary Commission.
